Moët & Chandon, makers of fine champagne for more than 260 years and long-time sponsor of the ASI World’s Best Sommelier Competition (Concours Du Meilleur Sommelier Du Monde Avec Moet & Chandon), hosted its gala dinner at the Hotel W in Santiago de Chile. The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the 12 semi-finalists who will continue their quest for the title on Wednesday.
Following a full day of grueling written and practical exams, the original 51 competitors were narrowed down to just 12, four of whom are women, including both female Canadian contestants.
