If you define the perfect evening as tasting a few wines and discussing the history of vino with friends (you scholar, you), all your dreams are about to come true.

The world now has a city of wine.

The equivalent of an adult theme park that trades Mickey for merlots and many, many other wines, La Cité du Vin — known to us English speakers as City of Wine — is slated to open in Bordeaux wine country June 1.

Yes, we'll wait as you book your ticket. (Bordeaux is only a one-hour flight from Paris.)

The park has 20 themed areas and exhibits that interactively explain the culture and history of wine, a 250-seat auditorium for screenings and classes, a simulator boat ride that shows what it was like to be a maritime merchant sailing across the globe, and expert-led tasting sessions. Oh, and you can also listen to famous stories of drunkenness, reports Refinery 29.

But it's not just about sipping wine until you're cheery and merry. The theme park says its mission is to promote and share the cultural, universal and living heritage of wine with the largest audience possible. That's worth a toast.

As though the idea of a wine theme park wasn't awe-worthy enough, the architecture of the park itself demands a second glance. Created by architects Anouk Legendre and Nicolas Desmazières of XTU Architects, the park's design includes symbols of knotted vine stocks, wine turning in a glass, and the nearby Garonne river. The park's building spans ten levels and is meant to appear as though it's flowing uninterrupted between its exterior and interior.

La Cité du Vin expects to welcome 450,000 visitors yearly. Admission tickets are about$22 each.

Check out the theme park below — bonus points if you do so with a glass of good wine.
